Welcome to Goodberry Hills

We are excited to welcome guests to our property! Come and experience the environment of the outback first hand.

OPENING Around the 1st May 2025

The Campground is now closed for our wet season. We close at this time of year as the campsites are in the flood zone of the Thomson River and inaccessible in wet weather.  We hope for a good wet to allow the pasture to grow for our cattle. Well how things can change quickly. After a very dry simmer we finally got some relief in late February with good rain, then in late March the heavens opened and we received 200mm over six days, wonderful steady rain. We were lucky to miss the huge falls that fell south of us but have still received a substantial flood. As of mid April the campground is still under water so when we can open depends on how fast the flooding subsides and the has to dry out. Still hoping for early May but will have to wait and see.

Take a Break

You need to escape now and then; a chance to slow down and recharge. Come and enjoy our secluded, peaceful campsites. Throw in a line and catch a yellow belly or just laze in the serenity on the bank of the river.

Getting There

The Goodberry Broadwater Campground is located 42 Km North East of Longreach Qld.

If travelling from Longreach at the large roundabout near the railway station cross the railway line and follow Eagle Street  which changes to the Crossmoor (Longreach-Muttaburra) Road. Head out approximately 42 Km . Keep going past the Goodberry Hills Homestead signpost and mailbox. You will pass some hills on your left and shortly after just before a cattle grid there is a sign on the left. Follow the track through a steel gate

into the Campground.

If travelling from Muttaburra or Aramac 8 Km from Muttaburra on the Muttaburra Aramac Road head south on the Crossmoor (Longreach-Muttaburra) Road. Travel approximately 65Km until just after a cattle grid there will be a sign on your right. Follow the track through a steel gate

into the campsites.

Please remember all  the roads are black soil so it only takes a small amount of rain to make them impassable.

Campsites

Choose from eleven secluded roomy, flat campsites on the banks of the Broadwater Waterhole. Sites vary in size from suitable for up to two vehicles to those that can accommodate several. See the campsite page for descriptions of the individual sites.

Please note this is a bush camping area with no facilities. The waterhole is our home water supply. Please bring a portable toilet and make sure you have plenty of drinking water.
